The Nisshinbo Group implemented CSR activities since FY2008 when it established the CSR Plan. In FY2016, the Group set KPIs to measure progress toward achieving its CSR goals. In FY2022, Nisshinbo renamed the plan to the Sustainability Promotion Plan and is promoting activities to achieve sustainability through its business activities.
Sustainability Promotion Plan
The Nisshinbo Group established three-year targets in its sustainability promotion plan and is promoting initiatives throughout the entire group, both in Japan and overseas, to achieve these targets.
The 6th Sustainability Promotion Plan and Progress in FY2025
The 6th Sustainability Promotion Plan (FY2025-2027), which began in FY2025, is progressing smoothly.
Materiality: Contribution to the Environmental and Energy Field

*2 Greenhouse gas emissions: Scope 1 + Scope 2
*3 Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework: An international framework that aims to achieve a world in harmony with nature by 2050 and to halt and reverse biodiversity loss by 2030.
*4 Life cycle assessment (LCA) : Understanding of environmental load, through the life cycle of a product, from raw materials, to production, use, and finally to disposal.
*5 PRTR substances: Substances subject to the Pollutant Release and Transfer Register (PRTR) system pursuant to the "Act on the Confirmation, etc. of Release Amounts of Specific Chemical Substances in the Environment and Promotion of Improvements to the Management Thereof" and reports of their amounts of release and transfer must be filed.
In the contribution to the environmental and energy field, Nisshinbo confirmed that activities related to the eight targets are progressing smoothly.
The Nisshinbo Group’s greenhouse gas emissions for FY2025 were reduced by 57% compared to FY2014, and the Group has already achieved its FY2027 target. This goal was achieved by switching 100% of the electricity used at the Tokyo Works of KOKUSAI DENKI Electric Inc. to net-zero renewable energy and by increasing the volume of net-zero renewable energy purchased at many of its other locations. Furthermore, the activities related to five other targets, including the reduction of water consumption per unit of sales, are progressing smoothly, and the Group already achieved its FY2027 targets. The Nisshinbo Group will continue its efforts with the aim of achieving even more goals.

In FY2025, products that contribute to a sustainable society accounted for 53% of total sales, a 9% increase from the previous fiscal year. For the promotion of the Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), the proportion of the Group’s FY2025 sales totaled 50%, a 2% increase from the previous fiscal year. To achieve these goals, the KOKUSAI DENKI Electric Group, which joined Nisshinbo's initiatives in FY2024, is implementing particularly proactive measures.

Materiality: Creation of a Safe and Secure Society

In terms of the creation of a safe and secure society, the Nisshinbo Group confirmed that business activities are progressing smoothly across the 9 quantitative targets set by the Group.
The Nisshinbo Group considers that sharing a common understanding of human rights is particularly important for every employee. In FY2025, the Group rolled out the President’s Message on the Group Human Rights Statement as part of its Group Human Rights Training program, which achieved a 97% implementation rate among domestic Group companies. For the overseas Group companies, the Group decided to implement this training program as an awareness-raising exercise tailored to each group company’s specific circumstances in FY2025 and achieved an implementation rate of 85%.

As part of its efforts to develop successors for executive leadership roles, Nisshinbo compiles an annual list of potential successors for key positions at each company based on the Nisshinbo Group’s common job grading system. The Group then selects participants from this list to undergo training and development. In 2025, the succession readiness rate stood at 81.8%.

To build a workforce with a more diverse range of backgrounds, the Nisshinbo Group is shifting away from a heavy reliance on new graduate hiring and expanding its mid-career hiring program. As of the end of FY2025, the proportion of mid-career hires in management positions at Nisshinbo Holdings, Inc. stood at 21.6%. In addition, the Group conducts training as part of our its leadership development program for women for potential managers, the next generation of leaders, and those in positions to mentor junior staff. As of the end of FY2025, the proportion of women in management positions at Nisshinbo Holdings was 11.8%.

Materiality: Global Compliance
In the Global Compliance section, the Group confirmed that activities are progressing smoothly across all three quantitative targets set by the company.
The Group promoted initiatives regarding compliance training, measures to ensure strict confidentiality, and the establishment of a corporate ethics reporting system, which resulted in a compliance training completion rate of 99.8% among management. In addition, the Group continued to respond appropriately to corporate ethics reports and achieved a 100% response rate as of the end of FY2025.
