Basic Concept
The aim of the Nisshinbo Group is to be a corporate group that continues to be trusted and needed by society through the protection of the health of each and every employee and the enhancement of the vitality of the entire organization. Creating an environment where employees can work in good health and with vitality is an important theme that is directly linked to the sustainable growth of the company and the happiness of its employees. To this end, Nisshinbo promoting measures to resolve employee health issues and achieve zero work loss.
Promotion System
Nisshinbo Holdings Inc. reorganized its organizational structure in April 2025 to establish a Managing Officer system for each functional division with the aim of building and overseeing a structure that would lead to urgent change. Under the leadership of the Managing Officer in charge of the Talent & D&I Development Department, the Nisshinbo Group holds an annual "Group Health Management Department Meeting" attended by representatives from the health care divisions of each group company to discuss health-related policies and issues across the group.

Specific Initiatives of The Nisshinbo Group
5th Sustainability Promotion Plan (to be achieved by FY2024)
In the 5th Sustainability Promotion Plan with FY2024 as the target year, the Nisshinbo Group set the following two items as targets and KPIs to cultivate employee health as a priority activity and achieve the goals of promoting health management.
- ① Rate of patients receiving detailed examinations after regular health checkups, 85% or more.
- ② Implementation rate of health guidance for high-risk workers, 100%.
In FY2024, based on the concept of "protecting the health of the workplace and employees and improving productivity through health management measures," Nisshinbo promoted the following activities.

6th Sustainability Promotion Plan (to be achieved by FY2027)
In the 6th Sustainability Promotion Plan, which targets FY2027, the Nisshinbo Group will continue to focus on cultivating employee health as a priority activity and will set the following two goals to achieve promoting health management.

In the 6th Sustainability Promotion Plan, the Nisshinbo Group will continue to implement the above specific initiatives as in the 5th plan.

Health Management
In promoting health management, the Nisshinbo Group focuses its activities on three pillars: individual health, organizational health, and execution of safety obligations without fail.
Framework for Health Management Measure

Under the Certified Health and Productivity Management Organization Recognition Program, designed by the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry and selected by the Japan Health Council, ten companies in the large corporation category*1 (including one company listed in the "White 500") and five companies in the small and medium-sized corporation category*2 as Certified Health and Productivity Management Organizations 2025.

Improvement of Lifestyle Habits
Based on the results of regular health checkups, the Nisshinbo Group is working to improve the lifestyle of employees at each group company to "reduce the smoking rate," "promote exercise habits," and "increase the percentage of employees who get enough rest through sleep."
Activities to reduce smoking rate
- ① Reviewing the operation of smoking areas, such as removing indoor smoking rooms and shortening the hours of use of smoking areas
- ② Providing subsidies for outpatient smoking cessation, incentives to quit smoking and smoking cessation support service assistance

Promotion of Collaborative Health Care by Each Health Insurance Association and the Company
In line with the company's promotion of health management, health insurance associations are also working together with the company to improve the lifestyle of subscribers and to prevent illness.

Promoting understanding of women's health-related issues
In order to deepen the understanding of health issues specific to women not only among women but also among men, and to create a comfortable workplace for everyone, Nisshinbo implemented e-learning education under the theme of "For women to continue working actively: Let's improve health literacy."
Specific Activities of the Group Companies
Implementation of a Three-Month Health Promotion Walking Program
Japan Radio Co., Ltd. has hosted the +10 Walking Challenge since 2019 as a health promotion walking event for groups and individuals. The goal is to extend healthy life expectancy by walking 10 minutes more than usual. Participants are considered to have achieved their goal if they exceed their target number of steps within three months. The event was well received with many employees participating every year.
Starting in 2023, anyone can participate by registering a dedicated app on their smartphone. Participants will receive points for the welfare services provided by the mutual aid association based on their average number of steps over the three-month event period. (① 4,000 points for 12,000 steps, ② 3,000 points for 9,000 steps, ③ 2,000 points for 7,000 steps)
Walking is safe and easy for people who are not good at exercise or who lack physical strength, and walking has benefits, such as helping to establish exercise habits, reducing stress, improving motivation, and promoting self-care. In addition, walking helps to enhance communication through interaction between event participants and to strengthen internal cooperation.
The company will continue to sponsor walking events and promote health management by improving the health of its employees.

Implementation of Specific Health Guidance
Japan Radio Co., Ltd. has provided specific health guidance since 2008 as part of its collaborative health initiative with the Japan Radio Insurance Association with the aim of preventing and improving lifestyle-related diseases. The specific health guidance consists of two courses: active support and motivation support. When this initiative was first launched, the initial consultation was conducted face-to-face, and follow-up support was provided through face-to-face meetings and telephone calls. Starting in FY2022, the company implemented support based on the RIZAP Lifestyle Improvement Program to improve implementation rates. In FY2024, 62 people (21.6% of those eligible) participated in the program.
Participants use a dedicated smartphone app to record their weights, exercise, and diets every day in order to achieve the goals set during an online consultation with their trainers. They can communicate with their trainers via email and other means and receive support to help them continue their efforts.
Safety and Health Event
Kokusai Denki Electric Linear S/A in Brazil holds an event called SIPAT (Internal Week for Accident Prevention at Work) every September for all employees. The week-long event aims to prevent workplace accidents and includes a variety of different lectures and activities ranging from disaster prevention to mental health care.
In 2024, the company held lectures on such topics as lifestyle changes to improve mental health, suicide prevention, and prevention of everyday accidents, focusing on the importance of leading a more balanced lifestyle, providing support for mental health, and implementing practical measures to create a safe workplace environment.
Through the event, participating employees shared their thoughts and opinions on the importance of lectures and dialogues and how they could bring about change in the workplace. They are applying what they learned to foster a mutually supportive workplace culture.


Physical Fitness Test
In July 2024, Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. conducted two physical fitness tests (standing with eyes closed on one leg and seated stepping test) for 270 employees aged 55 and over working at its Kawagoe Plant with the aim of motivating older employees to exercise and of preventing falls.
Based on the results of the pretest questionnaire and physical fitness tests, fall risk was classified into four levels. If the test results were lower than the self-assessment in the questionnaire, the employee was classified as "high fall risk: D." A D rating indicated that the employee's physical response might be slower than they realized. As a result of the assessment, 2% of employees were classified as having a high fall risk in the one-leg stand with eyes closed test, and 21% in the seated stepping test.
In 2025, the company plans to implement similar initiatives at its head office, Ikeda office, and Yashiro Plant, and thereafter conduct physical fitness tests annually or biennially to monitor changes over time. The company will continue to focus on the importance of maintaining and improving physical fitness, providing opportunities for exercise, and preventing falls and other accidents.

Health Photo Contest
Nisshinbo Micro Devices Inc. held a photo contest in 2024 as part of its health management strategy map, inviting employees to submit photos capturing their perspectives on health from the themes of diet, exercise, and the mind. The aim of the contest was to make health feel more accessible by incorporating not only daily diet and exercise but also the mind aspects of relaxation and peace of mind, thereby enhancing health awareness and improving workplace communication through these initiatives.
From a total of 62 entries, the winning entries were selected by employee voting, and the winners were announced in November. The winning entries were posted at each business site and announced on the company intranet.
The company will continue to promote employee health by utilizing the winning entries in future health events and other activities.

Mom Talk Seminar
Nisshinbo Micro Devices (Thailand) Co., Ltd. holds Mama Talk seminars twice a year for employees who are pregnant or who have recently given birth. In 2024, the seminars were held in June and December with a total of 15 employees participating.
This seminar aims to promote work-life balance, foster an understanding of the workplace, and reduce the rate of women leaving their jobs after giving birth. Participants learned from obstetricians about how to cope with physical and mental changes before and after childbirth, received explanations from the Human Resources Department about welfare programs related to pregnancy, childbirth, and childcare, and were introduced to a breastfeeding corner by the Health and Safety Department.
Male employees with wives who had just given birth also participated, and the event proceeded in a relaxed atmosphere as a place for people in similar circumstances to exchange opinions.

Worker Health Management Through Health Promotion Programs
Saeron Automotive Corporation in South Korea has conducted random inspections of protective equipment twice a month since January 2022 for employees who have been classified as requiring observation or showing signs of health issues based on health checkup results. Based on the results of the health checkups, the company categorizes the protective equipment that must be worn. For example, workers with hearing issues must wear not only earplugs but also ear muffs. During the inspections, the company checks whether the protective equipment is being worn properly.
In addition, since February 2022, the company has provided health consultations to employees who have been identified as requiring observation or who have been found to have health issues based on their health checkup results. Nurses and doctors from hospitals visit the workplace to provide health consultations to the employees concerned. Health consultations are managed so that those with findings and those requiring observation can receive consultations at least once a year. In 2024, health consultations were provided to 100% of those eligible for health consultations.
The company will continue to monitor the use of protective equipment and health consultation history on an ongoing basis to protect the health of workers and establish a culture of safety.
Employee Health Support
Health and wellness are extremely important for maintaining a high quality of life and achieving happiness. To support these efforts, Nisshinbo Automotive Manufacturing Inc. in the United States established a HEALTHY LIFE CORNER and installed a dedicated information board to introduce important topics related to employee health and wellness. Each month, the following wellness topics are featured.

- ・Mental health: Emotional regulation, cognitive function, reduced risk of mental illness
- ・Well-being: Stronger relationships, increased productivity, longer life expectancy
- ・Other: Increased self-esteem and confidence, reduced healthcare costs, improved quality of life
In addition, the company sponsors a health fair every September to further raise employee awareness of health issues.
Health and wellness are essential for individuals to enjoy their lives and pursue their goals, leading fulfilling and meaningful lives. The company will continue to support its employees to acheive their health and wellness goals.


Health Consultations by Health Care Physicians
The Osaka Office of Nisshinbo Textile Inc. has conducted health consultations (face-to-face interviews) for employees who wish to participate, utilizing the opportunity of regular visits by a health management doctor to the company on an irregular basis since May 2021 and on a monthly basis since April 2022.
The consultation time is 30 minutes per person, and the program is available to employees on secondment to subsidiaries in the vicinity of the company. Applications should be submitted to the manager of the Human Resources and General Affairs Section, who will give due consideration to privacy, and the program accepts a wide range of personal consultations regarding both mental and physical health. In some cases, with the consent of the individual, necessary measures may be implemented in relation to their employment. The number of people who consulted or met with us from January to December in FY2024 was eight. Health consultations conducted by doctors who understand the company's business and working environment are in steady demand among employees. The company will continue to offer health consultations as an opportunity to maintain and improve the physical and mental health of all employees.
